EmberSol delivers full ECO4 whole-house retrofits under PAS 2035, from survey to TrustMark lodgement.
Get a QuoteEmberSol delivered a full ECO4 whole-house retrofit at 15 Langley Avenue, Bilston — a solid-wall semi-detached house in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The property was in EPC band G at referral, with no central heating system, severely degraded loft insulation, and uninsulated solid brick walls. The Compliance photos.
The primary fabric measure was Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) using the SWIP system with Knauf mineral wool batts. The IWI installation in Bedroom 2 is comprehensively documented across five sequential compliance photos: timber stud frame fixed to the external wall, Knauf mineral wool batts installed between studs, SWIP Intello green intelligent VCL installed and taped, pink moisture-resistant plasterboard fixed, and the completed skim coat finish.
The SWIP Intello VCL is a key component of the system for solid wall construction — its distinctive green colour is clearly visible in the compliance photos. The membrane is taped at all joints and penetrations to create a continuous, airtight vapour control layer that prevents interstitial condensation in the solid brick wall while allowing the wall to dry inward during summer months.
Loft insulation was upgraded to 300mm Knauf mineral wool, replacing the heavily degraded original insulation visible in the pre-works survey. First Time Central Heating (FTCH) was installed — a Worcester gas boiler with full radiator system, Honeywell Home programmable thermostat, and TRVs. The completed front room shows the new radiator installed under the window. A Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (DMEV) system was installed to maintain healthy indoor air quality. All works were completed under ECO4 with full PAS 2035 compliance and TrustMark lodgement.
